Barca to bring back Grimaldo?

Barcelona are reportedly keeping tabs on the situation of their former left-back Alex Grimaldo, now at Benfica.

According to Sport, Barca are “very attentive” on Grimaldo after his “great season” to date with Benfica.

Juventus are said to be leading the race for the 21-year-old, while the Portuguese side could let him go if a sufficient offer comes their way.

The Catalans would also profit from the defender moving, but the newspaper claims they are watching how the transfer window develops, with a view to possibly bringing him back.

Grimaldo is a product of La Masia and came through the ranks at Barca, becoming captain of their B team, but failed to make a senior appearance.

He was subsequently sold to Benfica for a cut-price €1.5m last January due to his contract expiring the following summer.
