Weigl offered to Madrid?

Highly-rated Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl has reportedly been offered to Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain.

AS state the 21-year-old, who has been dubbed the ‘new Sergio Busquets’ due to his deep-lying midfield role and style of play, has been offered to Los Blancos by the player’s representatives.

Madrid have apparently been scouting Weigl for some time but may face competition from others – with rivals Barcelona and Manchester City also linked to the Dortmund midfielder in recent weeks (http://www.football-espana.net/62242/barca-city-target-weigl).

However, Weigl has recently extended his contract at the Westfalenstadion until 2021 and appears unwilling to force any move away from the club.

The report goes on to suggest that the club are prepared to be patient with any deal, especially as midfielder Marcos Llorente will return from a loan spell at Alaves in the summer and is expected to compete with Casemiro for the holding midfield role at the Bernabeu.

Madrid President Florentino Pérez also enjoys a strong relationship with Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke which could be key behind any negotiations on this front or indeed for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
