Prandelli warns ‘childish’ Parejo

Cesare Prandelli has warned Dani Parejo that “men should always keep their dignity” after a video leaked of the “childish” Valencia captain appearing drunk.

Parejo has come under fire for his involvement in a video clip that went viral on Tuesday, showing the midfielder seemingly under the influence of alcohol at a nightclub with a friend and nodding to an explicit remark made about Prandelli.

“It was childish. I haven’t called him up,” the Coach said at a Press conference for Wednesday’s Copa del Rey last-32 second leg against Leganes.

“The video says it all. I don’t like to comment on a video, my concern is the image of Parejo as a man.

“A player can be criticised, but men should always keep their dignity.”

The 27-year-old’s actions come at a time when Valencia have not won in La Liga since mid-October, leaving them above the relegation zone only by the virtue of a superior head-to-head.
