Asier Garitano praised the hard work of his Leganes side after securing a point against Eibar despite having goalkeeper Iago Herrerin sent off early on.
Miguel Angel Guerrero opened the scoring for Los Pepineros before Herrerin – on loan from Athletic Bilbao – was dismissed for fouling Takashi Inui in a one-on-one situation and Bebe scored a late equaliser for the Basque visitors.
“This is Leganes – we have to work as a team, sometimes we will be better or worse but we must never forget our team spirit and that was the case today,” explained Garitano.
“We must keep fighting in every single game in order to maintain our status in this league.
“We have had some very good and very bad moments this season but ultimately we have to be happy – this year has been very good and we are continuing to make progress.”
Leganes are 16th and four points above the relegation zone, while Eibar move up to 7th.
