Abdennour commits to Valencia

Valencia defender Aymen Abdennour has ruled out leaving Valencia in January despite reported interest from Premier League duo Chelsea and Everton.

The 27-year-old described both as ‘very good clubs’ and reiterated his desire to one day move to England but for now he is committed to Cesare Prandelli’s side and wants to help them move up the table.

"I've played in Germany at Werder Bremen, and in France at Toulouse and Monaco," Abdennour, who is under contract until 2020, told Foot Mercato.

"Right now, I'm playing in Spain. I have never played in Italy or England. They're two leagues I'm interested in.

"I follow the English league. Everton and Chelsea are two very good clubs. Last year, I heard there was contact with Valencia.

"I didn't bother myself with that. In the end, my club told me to stay, which is what I did. I train full on and I'm pro.

"I want to stay in Valencia. I don't want to leave my club in a bad position in the table. I want to go very far with Valencia.

"If I have to leave, I hope it will be for another big club."

The Tunisian defender is thought to be valued at €10m and Valencia have already admitted they are keen to sell players in January to help reshape their squad.
