Luis Enrique hailed Aleix Vidal for a “spectacular” performance in Barcelona’s 4-0 win against Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday.
Vidal was a surprise starter at right-back for Barca against Gladbach, given his recent exile from the first team, amidst reports he was set to leave the club in January.
Nonetheless, the 27-year-old took his chance as he nearly set up Paco Alcacer for the Catalans’ opening goal and assisted Arda Turan for 3-0.
“He was spectacular. Above all, he proved to be in great physical condition,” the Coach said after the game.
Praising Vidal’s “work with and without the ball”, Enrique added he was “very happy” with the former Sevilla man.
“We welcome anyone who wants to jump on the bandwagon. The more we have, the better it is for us,” concluded the Asturian.
