Ozil hints at Madrid return

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has admitted he could return to Real Madrid and still has 'great memories' of playing for the club.

The 28-year-old joined the Gunners from the Bernabeu in 2013 for a club record ā‚¬50m and has played 134 times for the North London side but in an interview with Marca, he made clear it was a possibility that he may return to the Spanish capital one day.

"Of course, I do not forget my time in Madrid. Three years have passed and I have great memories from there. Return? We'll see," said Ozil.

"Zidane was my Idol, as a child I always wanted to be like him on the field.

"Madrid is a great club ā€“ I played with great players, I have friends there still. Madridistas are very loyal and affectionate with me.

"Madridistas still encourage me. Many send me messages and ask me to come back, so I have only good memories from there.ā€

When asked if he regretted leaving Los Blancos, Ozil rejected the idea.

"I don't make mistakes. Iā€™m happy to have taken this adventure in England, having grown as a player & person."
