Gareth Bale will have tests in the next few days after suffering a potential ankle injury in Real Madrid’s 2-1 Champions League win at Sporting CP.
Bale looked to be in some discomfort from a Sebastian Coates challenge early in the second half, before being replaced on the stroke of an hour in Lisbon.
“Gareth Bale suffered more of an ankle twist than a knock but we’ll have to wait and see what the problem is,” Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane said after the game, UEFA reports.
“Tomorrow or after that we will find out when he is examined by our medical staff.”
Marcelo was also substituted after a spell on the deck receiving treatment, although Zidane did not disclose any notion of an injury.
