Poyet not feeling Betis pressure

Real Betis boss Gus Poyet insists “I don’t feel like I’m playing for my job” against Villarreal in La Liga on Sunday.

Poyet’s position at the helm is seen to be insecure after three defeats in four matches and an unsavoury relationship with Betis fans developing, but the Coach made it clear he was not feeling the pressure.

“There haven’t been any major differences since the week of Real Madrid. We’ve been working this week, trying out things and working,” he said at a Press conference.

“I don’t feel like I’m playing for my job. I don’t read anything. I’ve been told a bit about the reports, but I’m still living as I always do.

“My next match is the always the most important, regardless of whether I win or lose the last.

“There are teams in Spain and England that have already changed Coach. I’m not surprised because that’s football. I must focus on what I do and believe in it.

“The club haven’t given me any more news. We’re always in touch and nothing has changed. It’s the world we live in.

“Criticism from the fans? I said last week that I wouldn’t talk about issues with the fans any more. I won’t make any comments.”
