Quique Setien was “disappointed” with a section of Las Palmas fans for booing goalkeeper Raul Lizoain during Sunday’s 3-3 comeback draw with Celta Vigo.
“The comeback? We played with a little more order in a very difficult match,” the Coach said after the final whistle.
“Celta’s three goals had a devastating impact on us for everything we prepared, but I knew it’d be an entertaining game, especially for the spectators, because Celta tend to go forward with great speed.
“At half-time, I tried to get my players to forget the result, maintain order and control our opponents’ counterattacks better.
“The team then played at a good level in the second half, despite some mistakes, but overall we had a great game against a great team.
“Lizoain mistakes in two of the Celta goal? Perhaps, but I feel a little disappointed by the response of the fans, we can’t be booing our own players, no matter how poorly they play.
“He is another member of the squad and has played little In La Liga, and if they boo at someone then it’s also at me for playing them.”
