Jorge Sampaoli praised his Sevilla side’s performance in their win at Dinamo Zagreb but insisted they must improve their finishing.
Samir Nasri’s first half strike was the difference between the two sides even though the visitors had 73% of the possession and dominated proceedings.
“This was a very important result because it means we keep pace at the top of our group,” said Sampaoli after the game to UEFA’s official website.
“Really, in practical terms, we didn't struggle here although there were clear chances we should have converted.
“Defensively we were sound and with possession so high we were able to neutralise Dinamo.
“When you play Champions League however, you must score more goals and be more efficient when you have the chances.
“That's vital. It's in our hands to qualify in the fourth match if things go our way on the next matchday.
“For me there is no discussion who were the better team on the pitch, although Dinamo had their chances.
“I expect we will improve our finishing as we would have some problems against stronger teams.”
