‘Leganes still on learning curve’

Asier Garitano admits Leganes are still on “a learning curve” and unsure how Granada will fare without Paco Jemez ahead of Saturday’s early La Liga kick-off.

The build-up to the match at Los Carmenes has been marred by Granada’s dismissal of Jemez after their first six games of the season yielded just two points, making the need to focus all the more important for Garitano and his Leganes side.

“Paco Jemez’s dismissal doesn’t change us much, although it changes them,” the Coach said at a Press conference.

“I don’t know if they’ll give time to the new Coach to prepare something or give him continuity.

“What we have to do is adapt quickly to the changes that may take place.

"We saw what Granada did, some very clear situations, but now I don’t know if they will continue in that vein.

“We’ll have to see on the fly. What we have to do is focus on ourselves, give our best version and adapt to their proposal.

“This game gives us the ability to add points and keep improving, and we will be marking we need to grow. The first round is a learning curve for us.

“I know which idea or style the team feel more comfortable with. From there, 11 players will play and we must be a team if things go wrong, but overall I’m happy with how things are going.

“It’s what I think and every time [we train], I notice the lads to be a little better.”
