Sevilla striker Luciano Vietto has described his side’s victory over Lyon as ‘huge’ in terms of progressing from the group.
The Argentine missed a second half penalty and spurned a number of opportunities to increase his side’s lead further, but a header from Wissam Ben Yedder early in the second half was enough to give Jorge Sampaoli’s side a priceless victory over Lyon.
“It was really important to get the win and after getting a good result against Juventus, winning at home in front of our fans was huge for us,” Vietto told UEFA.com after the match.
“We were lacking something in the first half, we needed more intensity.
“At half-time our coach sorted things out and improved the team and we were able to get the victory. We're trying to play with a lot of intensity, create chances and have a lot of the ball. We're finding our way.”
