‘Hopeful’ Voro warns of Alaves threat

Valencia interim coach Salvador Gonzalez 'Voro' is hopeful the club bring in the 'right man' and has warned Alaves can add to the club's woes.

Voro will take temporary charge of the club following Tuesday's dismissal of Pako Ayestaran who guided Valencia to four straight league defeats to leave them rooted to the bottom of the table, ahead of Thursday night's visit of Alaves.

"Every coach has different characteristics," the 52-year-old former defender told Super Deporte.

"Some are better than others and we cannot measure a coach just on his profile but on the whole.

"My wish is that the club brings in the right man. There is still a very long way to go in LaLiga for the team to come out of this situation and for the fans to be happy.

"We have tried to focus training on the players being competitive, because if you are not competitive you will not win points in this league.

"Every team is strong and Alaves will be a very difficult opponent, as they showed against Barcelona in Camp Nou."
