Alegria ‘delighted’ with Betis debut

Real Betis debutant Alex Alegria was delighted with his side's last-gasp winner at Valencia.

Alegria was making his debut for the club four years after signing from Extremaduran side Cacerno, playing over 80 minutes in his side's win at the Mestalla.

"I'm delighted with my debut because the team has won three points," the striker explained after the game.

"The team has been working really hard in training all week and we deserved to win.

"We knew this would be a tough match as it's one of the hardest venues in the league and their fans were desperate for them to get three points.

"You have to concentrate for 90 minutes in this league and we believe we achieved that, you have to battle every minute and ultimately we were rewarded."

Betis picked up their first win of the season with Alegria's strike partner Ruben Castro netting in stoppage time against Valencia, who earlier had midfielder Enzo Perez sent-off.
