Suarez: We want to be Euro champs

Spanish Under 21 star Denis Suarez has said the team is targetting regaining the European Under 21 title next year.

La Rojita triumphed in the 2011 and 2013 tournaments before failing to qualify for the 2015 competition after elimination by Serbia.

However, Suarez is confident that they will qualify from a tight group and have the potential of going all the way next year.

"We want to qualify because we are aiming to win the title next year," the 22-year-old said ahead of his side's clash with Sweden.

"Being champions of Europe is what the team are looking to achieve.

"It's a very important time for us now after (failing to qualify for) the previous tournament and a disappointing Olympics.

"We know Sweden are a tough opponent but hopefully we can return to Spain with three crucial points."

The sides drew 1-1 in Tenerife earlier in the campaign and both are involved in a tight qualifying group – led by Croatia on 19 points, who have played a game more than Sweden (17) and Spain (16).
