Barca contest Gabigol-Inter deal?

Barcelona may reportedly refer Santos to FIFA over not being given enough time to consider their first refusal on Inter-bound Gabriel Barbosa.

According to Globoesporte, Barca secured a right of first refusal on Gabigol as part of their deal to sign Neymar in 2013.

However, the Catalans deem that, while they were notified by Santos of the forward’s sale to Inter, they were not given enough information on whether they would exercise their right to match the Nerazzurri’s offer.

Barca are then said to have demanded Gabigol’s proposed move to Inter be called off, but Santos ignored their pleas and ratified the player’s departure to Milan.

It is also claimed that La Blaugrana were required at least three working days to make a decision but only learned of the Italians’ proposal on August 29 – two days before the transfer window shut.

Globoesporte concludes FIFA is the only body that can resolve this conflict, in what would be a continuation of the two sides’ fractured relationship following their legal wrangle over Neymar.
