Chelsea are reported to be in advanced negotiations to sign Spanish full-back Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina.
The 25-year-old began his career with Real Madrid before moving to Bolton Wanderers, eventually signing for the Serie A club in 2013.
The former Sunderland loanee’s performances last season attracted the attention of Blues manager Antonio Conte, who wants to provide competition at left-back for Cesar Azpilicueta.
According to Spanish daily AS, talks between the clubs are at an advanced stage, though no agreement has been reached yet.
Chelsea’s current offer for the player is said to be €22m, but Fiorentina are determined to hold out for €25m.
