Michu ‘would die for Oviedo’

Michu has spoken of what returning to Oviedo means to him, vowing he’d ‘die’ for the club, and targets La Liga.

The former Swansea City forward was presented on Monday evening after wrapping up a return to his first club and said his comeback meant more to him than debuting for Spain.

“I’m from Oviedo and being back home means a lot. I was fortunate to wear the shirt of the national tea but this is much bigger. If I’m here it’s because it’s perfect, I can defend the team I love,” Michu said, Marca reports.

“I hope as soon as possible we are where we deserve, the objective in the short-to-medium is the Primera. I’ve had ankle pain for two years. I’ve learned to live with it. I’m much better, I think I can compete at a high level and I think I can help with the support of everyone. I’ll die for this shirt, for these colours. It’s a dream.”
