Pep Guardiola stopped short of confirming Claudio Bravo was joining from Barcelona but acknowledged he was close to Manchester City.
Guardiola, speaking at a Press conference prior to his team’s Champions League tie with Steaua Bucharest, didn’t deny the Chile international was on his way but as he’s not officially signed, declined to speak too much about him.
“I cannot deny what everyone knows, Barcelona was the first – one week or 10 days ago – who announced the contact with Manchester City,” he said, ESPN reports.
“But, I'm sorry guys, until a deal is complete or not complete, I will be open to answer questions about one player but until that moment he is not our player.”
Bravo was said to be on his way to Manchester on Wednesday and Manchester Airport’s Twitter account duly confirmed he had arrived in England late in the afternoon.
