Reyes: Sevilla return special

Jose Antonio Reyes admits returning to Sevilla as an Espanyol player will be a ‘special night’ but ‘there’ll be no friends when the game starts.’

Reyes left Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan at the end of last season and starts the new one with his new team at his former home, saying at a Press conference that it will be a memorable occasion.

“It’s a special day for me. There was a tribute four days ago. It’s my home. It will be a special night. Of course, when the game starts there will be no friends,” AS quotes Reyes as saying, before he considered whether or not the opposition will be tired from the Supercopa de Espana.

“Sevilla have a lot of players, a big squad, and for sure they’ll make a lot of changes on Saturday so we won’t have much of an advantage. It’s a tough, tough place to go but we’ve seen how they play, what we have to do and I hope good things happen.

“The preseason went well but the good, beautiful thing begins on Saturday and that’s where we need to start winning. We all have to feel important. The most important thing is to be a team and everyone on the pitch feel comfortable.

“Expectation is created by players, the team, but we don’t need to go crazy. We know what our objectives are. We don’t have to believe we can win the League. We have to go game-by-game and we’ll see what happens between now and the end of the season.”
