Former Barcelona and Milan star Rivaldo feels Karim Benzema is a better player than Antoine Griezmann.
Despite the remarkable improvement in Atletico Madrid striker Griezmann’s game over the past two seasons, Brazil legend Rivaldo told L’Equipe that in his opinion the Real Madrid man is superior.
“Antoine Griezmann has obviously had a great season for both club and country. However, I would say that Karim Benzema is still the No 1 French footballer,” maintained the 44-year-old.
“Benzema has shown by his consistency at the highest level that he is one of the best strikers in the world.
“The pressure he is under at a club like Real Madrid is not easy to handle and I think the French team lost a lot by him missing Euro 2016.
“With him, the final could have turned out happier for them.”
