Pep won’t deny Bravo links

Pep Guardiola has refused to deny reports that Manchester City are interested in Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

Mundo Deportivo cited sources close to Bravo over the weekend that a deal to take the custodian to City was “almost done”, while Sport claims the Chilean’s agent is due to speak to the Barca hierarchy this week, where he may inform them of his client’s desire to leave.

“It’s not the time to talk about players who don’t belong to [City],” he said when quizzed about the 33-year-old.

Bravo, for his part, wrote a cryptic Instagram post on Monday, which read: “Always think about giving the best [you can] every day.”

Joe Hart was dropped by Guardiola for City’s 2-1 opening-day victory over Sunderland in the Premier League, and while the Englishman was called up for the Champions League playoff first leg against Steaua Bucharest, 20-year-old Angus Gunn was named as a third goalkeeper.
