Sevilla winger Vitolo has described the European Super Cup defeat to Real Madrid in Norway as ‘one of the worst days of my life’.
Dani Carvajal notched the winner one minute from the end of extra time to lift the cup for Zinedine Zidane’s men, although Vitolo confessed Sergio Ramos 93rd-minute equaliser was the one which sunk his side.
“This has possibly got to be one of the worst days of my life,” the 26-year-old told beIN Sports immediately after the match.
“Ramos’ goal sunk us along with Kolo’s sending off and it seemed we were destined not to win the Super Cup
“But the team stood up and I have to congratulate the players, who gave everything, and also our supporters.
“We had to withstand everything against a team like Real Madrid and then they scored the winning goal that made us look foolish.”
