Valencia are aiming to bring Raul Albiol back to the club from Napoli, sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch confirms.
Pitarch discussed the centre-back as Martin Montoya was unveiled and revealed the long-term goal was always to seal Albiol’s return, the defender having left for Real Madrid in 2009 and joined Napoli in 2013.
“We’ve had the goal from day one to bring Albiol back. We’re waiting for him to the limit and in case we can’t [complete the signing] then we’ll look at other options. At the moment we’re waiting for him because we know both he and his family are excited to return,” Pitarch said, Marca reports.
