Villarreal are reportedly on the verge of signing Sampdoria midfielder Roberto Soriano for €15m.
According to Marca, an agreement between the two clubs has been reached, leaving Soriano “a step away” from becoming Villarreal’s newest recruit.
The 25-year-old was tipped to join Napoli as recently as a few days ago, but the Yellow Submarine appear to have swooped in late and are happy to pay his €15m release clause.
The former Bayern Munich youngster is also said to have attracted interest from Valencia, though the newspaper is adamant their nearby rivals are “best-placed” to land him.
