Denis Suarez is ‘at Barcelona to fight’ for his place and isn’t concerned by the arrival of Andre Gomes despite the increased competition.
Suarez returned to Camp Nou this summer after spells at Sevilla and Villarreal and knew what he was getting into when he accepted Barca’s offer to come back.
“All the world’s most powerful clubs have two players for every position, minimum. It’s logical, and it didn’t prevent me from coming here. I came here to fight,” he said, Sport reports.
“Gomes? He’s a great player, who can play both in the centre of midfield or on the wing.”
AS adds that Suarez welcomed Gomes’ signing further, insisting that what matters is Barca having the depth to compete.
“Anything that adds to us is positive. I’m here to help and seize opportunities. My chances are the same as any other player,” he continued.
