‘Cholo will end up at Inter’

Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti believes Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone will one day coach the San Siro outfit.

The Argentine’s work at Vicente Caldreon has earned him a reputation as one of the world’s most astute tacticians, while the Nerazzurri are reported to be on the verge of parting company with their current boss Roberto Mancini.

“Cholo said that he would love to coach Inter in the future,” Zanetti told reporters. “At the moment, our Coach is Mancini and out of respect to him and his work, I won’t talk about another Coach.

“If we look to the future, I imagine that Inter and Simeone will end up crossing paths again.”

Simeone played for Inter in a two-year spell between 1997 and 1999.
