Confirmed: Ochoa to Granada

Guillermo Ochoa has left Malaga to join Granada, having been a request of new Coach Paco Jemez.

Ochoa moved to La Rosaleda in the summer of 2014 but found it hard to earn a place as first choice with Carlos Kameni for competition.

AS reports Granada and Malaga had a day of ‘intense’ negotiations over the 31-year-old, while Ochoa was contacted by Jemez himself, the Coach explaining his project as Los Carmenes and convincing the Mexico international of the move.

Ochoa made 19 appearances in his two years with Los Boquerones, having also represented French outfit Ajaccio, where he played more than 100 times, and first club America, for whom he played on more than 200 occasions.

Fichajes.net reports Malaga could turn to Nastic’s Manolo Reina as Ochoa’s replacement, despite the 31-year-old only last month renewing with the Segunda side. Reina is though a product of the Malaga academy and could be interested in returning.
