Luis Enrique confirms Barcelona’s search for a fourth forward and explains the kind of player wanted. ‘A pure striker with goals and speed.’
Enrique didn’t proffer any names when speaking to reporters for the first time in the summer, Kevin Gameiro and Luciano Vietto among those linked, but Mundo Deportivo notes the Coach did reveal details on the profile desired.
“It’s true we’re looking for a forward. There are players who think it’s difficult to have minutes here but we are sure there is a striker who will come with faith, wants to come and will think he can add to us. There’s a lot of them,” Enrique argued.
“This squad is still very good and we’ve improved. We’re looking for a pure striker, with more chances of scoring, who is in the penalty area more, and is fast. We have several players who can play wide – Denis Suarez, Arda Turan, Sergi Roberto, Andres Iniesta or Rafinha. There are several players on the market who fall into these possibilities.
“Nolito? I just talk about my players. I don’t talk about those who are at other clubs or those signed by other teams.”
