Carles Gil is expected to join Deportivo La Coruna on a season-long loan from Aston Villa.
Gil moved to Villa Park from Valencia in the winter of 2015 but struggled in the Midlands as the team was relegated at the end of last season.
Super Deporte reports interest from a number of La Liga clubs in repatriating the midfielder but Deportivo are believed to have beaten out Real Betis and Celta Vigo for the 23-year-old’s signature.
The deal will be a 12-month loan and Depor will take an option to make the move permanent.
