Manchester City are to pay €4m to take goalkeeper Gero Rulli but will send him back to Real Sociedad on a year’s loan.
AS cites reports from the Daily Mail that claim Pep Guardiola’s team will buy Rulli outright from the agents who own his registration, the Stella Group, with Rulli technically registered to Deportivo Maldonado.
He has spent the last two years on loan at Anoeta and will be picked up by City at the request of Guardiola.
Rulli, 24, will also still be allowed to appear for Argentina at the Olympic Games, AS noting that La Real had already given the go-ahead while City, it’s felt, would have stood in the way.
