Atletico Madrid new boy Sime Vrsaljko says “my objective was to join a team who fought for the Champions League” after landing in the Spanish capital.
Vrsaljko touched down in Madrid on Sunday night ahead of joining up with his new teammates on their preparations for next season, with Atleti having returned to base from their training camp in Los Angeles de San Rafael.
“I’m very happy, focused and ready to start [work] with my new colleagues, they’re like a family,” the right-back, who represented Croatia at Euro 2016, told Marca.
“My objective was to join a team who fought for the Champions League. Now I’m only thinking about working.”
