La Liga is set for a long winter break next season as no fixtures have been scheduled between December 18 and January 6.
Last season witnessed the introduction of a New Year programme over December 30-31 and January 2-4, but it has been scrapped for 2016-17.
Spanish top-flight clubs will instead be given three weeks off, most likely due to the campaign not being followed by a major international tournament.
