‘Sevilla will learn from Sampaoli’

Dani Carrico wants Sevilla to adapt quickly to new Coach Jorge Sampaoli and says the players ‘will learn a lot from him.’

Sampaoli has replaced Unai Emery at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan and Carrico has discussed his initial impressions of working under the former Chile trainer, speaking as one of the senior members of the locker room.

“The pre-season has been very hard, as all pre-seasons are, but it’s the start of a new era. People are very predisposed to work and to new ideas. It will be another major challenge but we’re very keen. The double training sessions are going to be useful, so us veterans can teach the newcomers what Sevilla is,” Carrico said, Estadio Deportivo reports.

“Unai had his ideas and Sampaoli has other ones. Now we have to adapt as soon as possible. Sampaoli has won trophies, knows a lot about football and has other ideas, very high pressure. We’ll learn a lot with him. We’ll have games so the machine is ready for the European Super Cup.

“We’re starting from scratch in terms of concepts but we have the base of a very strong group. We accept the challenge put to us and we want everything to go well. We want to continue enjoying it after the three glorious years we’ve had.”
