Madrid no longer selling Morata?

Real Madrid have reportedly made a last-minute U-turn on Alvaro Morata by declaring the striker as not for sale.

According to Marca, the breaking development has come from Florentino Perez’s desire to retain him, the President seeing the 23-year-old as “an important asset to Zinedine Zidane’s squad”.

It also marks a change in Marca’s coverage of story, the newspaper claiming on Saturday that Chelsea were favourites to sign Morata, despite having a €60m offer rejected.

The former Juventus attacker, who ended Euro 2016 as Spain’s top goalscorer, is now set to join his international compatriots in reporting for preseason at Valdebebas.
