Celta new boy angers Depor

Celta Vigo recruit Alvaro Lemos has drawn the ire of his former club Deportivo La Coruna as his new employers “are the No 1 team in Galicia”.

Lemos, who can play anywhere down the right, joined Celta from La Liga 2 side Lugo on a five-year contract earlier in the week, but his move has not gone without controversy as he began his career with their arch-rivals Depor.

“I’d like to say that I’ve joined a big club, who I think are the No 1 team in Galicia, and I’ll give everything to this team. Hala Celta!” he said at his official presentation on Thursday.

The 23-year-old’s remarks have attracted over 100 comments on Marca’s website, many of them from disgruntled Depor fans.
