Victor Valdes is to have a medical with Premier League new boys Middlesbrough and the goalkeeper has met with Aitor Karanka.
The Guardian reports that the Teeside outfit are confident of getting 34-year-old Valdes and are ready to push through the formalities, the ex-Barcelona shot-stopper a free agent after his contract at Manchester United expired.
There’s said to be interest in Valdes from Sporting Lisbon and Besiktas but ‘Boro believe Valdes will accept their offer, having identified a goalkeeper as a priority signing after promotion from the Championship.
