Diego Llorente close to Malaga

Diego Llorente should soon finalise a season-long loan move from Real Madrid to Malaga.

AS reports the agreement is almost settled despite Madrid having recently prevented Llorente completing a similar arrangement with Villarreal, after Zinedine Zidane asked that the defender stay with Los Blancos for the duration of pre-season and then be allowed to leave.

Zizou is said to think highly of Llorente and with Sergio Ramos and Pepe on Euro 2016 duty and Raphael Varane recovering from injury, the Coach wanted defensive reinforcements among his squad.

His intention was to decide later in the summer if Llorente would be allowed to leave on loan or not but with Llorente wanting his future settled quickly, and the chance to have a pre-season with his new team, La Rosaleda has emerged as a destination.

Juande Ramos, newly installed on the south coast, is said to have asked for Llorente and is a fan of his versatility, but Malaga won’t have an option to sign the 22-year-old once his loan spell ends.
