The Barcelona leadership are clear in their pursuit of Valencia’s Andre Gomes and Arda Turan to Borussia Dortmund could help make it happen.
Sport reports German interest in Arda and says Dortmund wouldn’t pay anything less than €30m for the Turkey international, who struggled in his first season at Camp Nou after making the move from Atletico Madrid.
Not only would Barca welcome the money and put it towards the mooted €60m Los Che want for Gomes but Turan’s exit would create space in the squad for a midfielder.
Gomes has become a favourite of the Barca hierarchy but the Catalans have bad memories of negotiating with Valencia, from their long-running and ultimately expensive chase of Jeremy Mathieu, when Barca eventually had to buy the defender out of his contract.
