Oliver key to Aubameyang deal?

Oliver Torres is reportedly the key to a deal being struck between Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

According to AS, Diego Costa remains Atleti’s main striking target, but they have accepted Chelsea’s reluctance in entering negotiations, prompting Los Colchoneros to turn their attentions to Aubameyang.

The newspaper adds the Bundesliga runners-up are loathe to lose another attacking talent after Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s move to Manchester United, yet the Germans are known to always be open to negotiations and could reignite their interest in Oliver.

The young midfielder returned to the Vicente Calderon last summer after a successful 2014-15 on loan at Porto but struggled for first-team opportunities, which led to Dortmund enquiring about him in January.

Atleti are believed to rate Oliver in the region of €20m, €40m below what Dortmund are asking for Aubameyang, but the former could include the 21-year-old in their offer to bring down the cost of the transaction, while addressing BVB’s need for a new No 10.

Oliver would be joined by fellow Spaniards Marc Bartra, Mikel Merino and possibly Cesc Fabregas at Signal-Iduna-Park.
