Navas to miss Super Cup?

Keylor Navas reportedly faces a race against time to be fit for Real Madrid’s European Super Cup clash with Sevilla on August 9.

Navas has spent the past month recovering from an Achilles operation, but Marca reports the goalkeeper will “most likely” not be at 100 percent for the match in little over a month’s time.

The 29-year-old spent the first part of his recuperation at Madrid’s Valdebebas training complex but has since embarked on his summer holidays in Costa Rica.

In that time, Navas has “pushed hard” to regain his fitness, his work described “spectacular and exemplary” by staff at Valdebebas, but neither Zinedine Zidane nor club medics are willing to rush him back.

Kiko Casilla is consequently expected to start in goal against Sevilla, in what would be only the Espanyol old boy’s eighth appearance for Los Blancos.
