Unai Emery has been confirmed by Paris Saint-Germain and says he takes his new role ‘with great pride.’
Emery left Sevilla at the end of the season and after PSG sacked incumbent Laurent Blanc and Jorge Sampaoli was appointed his successor at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, the three-time Europa League winner has been ratified in his new role.
“It is with great pride that I accepted the mission to lead Paris Saint-Germain. This club has become one of the most powerful in Europe in recent seasons and I am both pleased and honoured to help carry these grand ambitions,” Emery said in a statement on his official website.
“I am very eager to discover my new players and the people who work every day to make this club grow. I know there is huge passion around PSG and I will do my best to ensure the club’s millions of fans have a lot to celebrate.”
