Blanc leaves PSG amid Emery talk

Paris Saint-Germain have announced that Laurent Blanc has left his role as Coach, paving the way for Unai Emery.

Blanc replaced Carlo Ancelotti in the summer of 2013 and guided PSG to the Ligue 1 title in each of his three of his seasons at the club, even signing a new contract at the beginning of the year, but he has paid the price for a lack of Champions League success.

His departure frees Emery to become the French giants’ new boss, the 45-year-old having departed Sevilla a fortnight ago, less than a month after he led the side to a third straight Europa League.

The former Barcelona defender is PSG’s second high-profile exit since President Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s warning of big changes being afoot at Parc des Princes after talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
