Nolito confirms City move close

Nolito confirms he is closing in on a move to Manchester City as he has not signed with the English club “for now”.

City have reportedly activated Nolito’s €18m release clause and offered him a three-year contract, and the Celta Vigo star indirectly made it clear the Etihad Stadium would be his likeliest destination after Spain’s involvement at Euro 2016.

“We’re calm and we depend on ourselves. We have to respect every opponent, but we’re not afraid of anyone,” the attacker told Radio Marca.

“David de Gea was frustrated, Sergio Ramos too, but we stand together. We’re a close-knit unit.

“When we win, we win together and when we lose, we lose together. We’re the only ones who can change things.

“We’ll see what happens with my future, but I won’t complain about how things are going for me sportingly.

“For now, I haven’t signed with Manchester City, but I won’t lie so we’ll see. I haven’t spoken to [Pep] Guardiola.

“Maybe [Pedro’s] been misunderstood, but we all support him. I honestly don’t mind coming to the national team and not playing.”
