Barcelona have reportedly made contact over Chelsea and Spain defender Cesar Azpilicueta but Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are keen too.
AS reports the three clubs plus Athletic Bilbao have expressed their interest with Barca just the latest, quoted a fee of €18m as they look to replace Dani Alves, who is bound for Juventus.
Barca would like Hector Bellerin but Arsenal are insistent the youngster isn’t for sale so Azpi has become a prime contender, the suggestion being that Barca aren’t content with Sergi Roberto and Aleix Vidal as right-back options once Alves leaves.
Unai Emery would like Azpi at PSG, once he takes over, however, and Carlo Ancelotti wants him with him at Bayern, while Athletic ask about Azpi every year, it’s said, as the Pamplona-born defender qualifies for their Basques-only policy.
Atletico Madrid were leading the way for the former Osasuna and Marseille defender but instead settled on Sassuolo’s Sime Vrsaljko, who is expected to be confirmed soon.
