Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Jesus admits “joining Barcelona would be a dream” as the club reportedly lead the race for his signature.
Sport claims Barca have overtaken Juventus in the running by launching a €19m bid for Gabriel, who has enjoyed a breakthrough year with Palmeiras, despite turning 19 just two months ago, although Premier League sides could yet trump that offer.
“Joining Barcelona would be a dream. I’m aware of my abilities, I know my potential and what I can give,” the attacker, who will represent Brazil alongside Neymar at the Olympic Games in Rio next month, told the newspaper.
“I’m working very hard [at the moment]. I’m trying to do my best so I can do what I like best, which is play football, and the truth is that I’m having so much fun.
“I have the best family and receive the best guidance. I trust them a lot, they’ve always advised me throughout my life … but it’s me who has to make decisions.”
