Xavi Hernandez reveals his experience of watching Barcelona as a fan and he’s impressed. ‘I watch Barca play and I drool!’
The former Barca captain left for Al Sadd last summer and has written of his first 12 months outside Camp Nou.
“After 17 years of playing in the first team and almost 25 years at the club, I’ve discovered being a support and I have to say I’ve really enjoyed it, but I’ve suffered more on the sofa then when I was playing. I get nervous and sometimes I sweat as if I was playing,” Xavi revealed, AS reports.
“The first thought that comes to mind is that when you leave Barca, you realise its true dimension. But above all, I realised the quality our team has. I’ve seen more football than ever and I can say without doubt Barca are on another level. It’s the best team in the world by far! I think only Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich come close. But the rest play another sport. I watch Barca and I drool.
“It’s not just the players, it’s how we play collectively. I know how they train, how they prepare, what they do tactically and they do it all perfectly. Physically, tactically, technically. They won’t be Champions League winners this year but they are the best team in the world, without a doubt.”
