Ronaldo slams Iceland ‘bus-parkers’

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo accused Iceland of ‘parking the bus’ in their 1-1 draw with Portugal on Tuesday as “this shows a small mentality”.

Ronaldo failed to score in his first match at Euro 2016, despite a glut of chances falling his way, and refused to shake the hands of Iceland players after the game.

“I thought they’d won the Euros, the way they celebrated at the end,” he was quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

“It was unbelievable. We tried hard to win the game and Iceland didn't try anything.

“This, in my opinion, shows a small mentality and they are not going to do anything in the competition.

“[It was a] lucky night [for Iceland, and they parked] a bus in their net.

"Portugal try to play football and try to win the game. Iceland didn't try anything.

“They were just defend, defend, defend and playing on the counter-attack.”
