‘Barca not considering Bellerin’

Robert Fernandez denies Barcelona are considering Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin to replace Dani Alves, who is to leave the club.

The sporting director confirmed Alves’ exit at a Press conference and was asked if Spain international Bellerin, a graduate of La Masia before decamping for the Gunners, could be his successor.

“I haven’t raised [Bellerin] at this point. He’s a player who we know because he grew up here but at this time I’m not raising anything in this regard,” Robert said, Mundo Deportivo reports.

“Aleix Vidal was signed [last summer] thinking Alves could go. We trust in him. He was having a fantastic season at Sevilla and we have the emergence of Sergi Roberto. Douglas? I want him to play. And if he doesn’t have that possibility we will look for a solution. I said a few months ago I want him to get minutes, that it’d be best for him and the club.”
